Kathy earned a B.S. in Biology from Truman State University in 2006. She joined the lab in Spring 2012 after six years of working in biotech industry labs in St. Louis. Her experience ranges from protein and DNA analysis to automation development to genetic transformation of various crops, including tobacco, cotton, and corn. Her main interests are biostatistics and bioinformatics, especially surrounding HIV/AIDS research. Kathy loves to travel when she can, especially to her favorite city, New Orleans, in the spring.
